The Phoenix was chasing North's imposing 8-302, but finished on 9-225.
Home team captain Ash Borella and Brandon Purtell combined in a 159-run stand for the third wicket.
Borella smashed a sizzling 95 runs from only 60 deliveries, with 13 boundaries and a six.
Purtell posted 79, while Greg Daniel chipped in with 49.
Dan Baker and Sam Grant snared three wickets.
