Repair work allowed the westbound track to reopen on Saturday night, with limited hours.
The line was open from 6pm and 6am to move some traffic, but will remain shut between 6am and 6pm each day.
The incident, which involved a freight train derailing at several points and hitting a V/Line train, damaged 180 metres of line.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Damage is clearly visible, with the track warped out of shape.
Containers and wagons which spilled off the side of the railway line had been cleared by Friday.
The cause is being investigated by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
