"We have a thriving junior club that is competing at the best level in the state that requires a facility to allow them to train at the required standard," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Currently we are limited to train only two nights per week which is below the expectation at junior NPL level.
"We also have ambitions for female teams in future and also aspirations for seniors to return which require a facility to accommodate that growth.
"The need for soccer pitches at Baranduda Fields still very much exists as there are not enough soccer fields in Wodonga.
"The number of soccer pitches in Wodonga is significantly behind other regional centres with similar populations.
"Our financial situation is very strong to allow us to commit to a long term lease with the council at Baranduda Fields.
"There is far too much load on the Latrobe University facility at the moment with Wodonga Diamonds experiencing strong growth."
Murray United flagged its intentions to move to Baranduda Fields following a $10 million federal government funding boost last year.
Wodonga Council has elevated the creation of three soccer pitches and associated amenities at the facility which is set to start this year.
