Mr McCurdy said those who live in country Victoria should be allowed to go on a fishing trip as long as social distancing is adhered to.
"Victorians who live in country communities are rightly frustrated with the government's decision to put a blanket ban on all recreational fishing and hunting - even for those who live nearby rivers, lakes, forests and wetlands," he said.

Mr McCurdy said fishing and hunting should be classed as exercise.
"We must all keep in mind the advice to stay at home, but surely we can also apply some common sense," he said.
