Graham Docksey hit out after a report was presented to Monday night's council meeting into a concept plan for an Uiver museum in the square which could result in the demolition of the cafe.
It was estimated it would cost $100,000 to raze the youth eatery, which opened in 2016, and $942,000 to $2.275 million to replace it.
"To take it away and spend another massive amount of money to integrate it into the museum is just ridiculous," Cr Docksey said.
He wants the Uiver replica plane to remain at Albury airport.
Deputy mayor Amanda Cohn said the cafe should not be subsumed in the museum and as a live music venue it "cannot be co-housed".
Councillor David Thurley successfully moved a motion 5-4 to gain community feedback on plans for QEII Square.

Former city mayor Alice Glachan said it was important the general public was consulted rather than just interested parties.
"Do they really want to forego that large green and open space to enable a museum or do they actually want....a museum in the middle of town?" she pondered.
