The name, more recently associated with the viral video filmed by a woman who confronted Bunnings staff over wearing a mask, has become a moniker used in popular culture to describe someone who supposedly complains a lot, or causes a stir on social media.

But some Albury-Wodonga businesses want to celebrate the Karens in town by offering free products, after sighting a photo ID of course.
"The Karen's of the world are copping a bad rap lately we feel your pain! So if your name is Karen, we'd like to celebrate you," Sodens Hotel Albury said in a Facebook post.
"Receive a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink when you order dinner!"
Wodonga business Miss Naked Cakes handed out free cupcakes for Karens on Friday with the hashtag #KindnessforKaren.
