Sunday's annual Thurgoona Sprint is a 27-hole event with a strong field of more than 80 players.
Like so many courses around the country, golf has been booming on the Border with big fields for the regular competitions.
"It's great that the members have supported it so well," golf operations manager Jenna Fitzgerald said.
"It's just something different with the 27 holes as opposed to the regular 18 that you play."
The event will be handicapped into three sections.
A grade is those on plus five through to nine, B is from 10 to 16, while C is 17-plus.

Players will be keen to test themselves over the longer event as the hint of warmer weather gets even more excited about hitting the fairways.
The forecast of a sunny 15 and 18 degrees and light winds Friday and Saturday will help dry the course.
