Hockey Albury-Wodonga eights titles won by Pink and Grey teams

Both teams played strong hockey with Pink able to make the most of their chances through Palubiski.

Jess Madden and Rosie Blain dominated the midfield for Grey, but were unable to penetrate the defence of Pink, ably led by Lauren Calleja.

In the premier men's final, Grey scored a comprehensive 3-0 win against Orange.

Youngster Hamish Morrison starred in his first year in the premier mix and showed he has the potential to excel, combining well with Matt Russell to help Grey to victory.

David Foster and Kurt Beath were the standouts for Orange, but they missed the speed and strength of Sam McIntosh on the ball.

Blue pipped yellow, 5-4, in the women's consolation final,

As indicated by the score , it was a closely contested match with both teams fighting hard but playing in the spirit of the competition.

Yellow goalkeeper Steph Bruce played a strong game and without her there Blue's Katy Smithwick and Dionne Hartley would have found the net far more often.

In the men's consolation game, Red defeated Black, 4-2.

With Charley Wallace back in the side, Red strengthened their defence and were able to keep speedy forward Ryan Heagney under control.

Goalkeeper Patrick Baine played a solid game for Black and was tested by quick breakaways from Red's Aiden McMillan, who managed to find the back of the net.
