"You have pushed me too far c ... ," Brodie Ray said in a text message to the victim.
"I'm coming out there, I didn't want to have a fight, dumb mole, spastic slut."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ray's actions at the Corowa home they once shared, with their two children, in August - as well as a police pursuit in Albury in November - have had him in custody ever since.
Magistrate Richard Funston said he had no choice but to impose full-time jail, but he provided some leniency to the 28-year-old by imposing a lengthy, 12-month non-parole period, with a release date of August 31, 2021.
"There is still hope and rehabilitation is obviously required by way of drug counselling and the like," he said.
Ray has been in custody since he was extradited from Queensland on September 1.
He pleaded guilty to three sets of charges.
The first were counts of contravention of an apprehended violence order, using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and failing to appear on bail.
These related to an incident on August 19 - when Ray was already serving a six-month intensive corrections order - at the couple's Corowa home just after 6pm.
An anonymous triple zero call reported a disturbance involving Ray and the victim at her Malbee Court home.
A second call, 20 minutes later, reported that Ray was at the house in breach of an AVO.
He couldn't be found by police on arrival, but then a search of the house uncovered Ray hiding behind a bedroom door. He was Tasered when he pulled out a knife.
Defence lawyer Camille McKay said the second AVO breach, which resulted also in an intimidation charge, was far more serious given the threats.
The pursuit, on November 9, was brief.
This involved Ray hitting speeds of up to 120km/h in the 50km/h residential zone of Frauenfelder Street, North Albury.
