The club's in-town series, which includes those from under six to under 10, has expanded, while a bumper 75 attended training for the older age groups, who play in the Group Nine competition.
"We're definitely excited about the under 10s playing in town and really developing that in-town competition," club president Scott Harris said.
"The travelling teams are also really excited about getting back into Group Nine and playing for points."
The Thunder didn't contest last year's competition due to COVID-19.
The club now has 25 teams and many of those youngsters can see NSW Origin coach Brad Fittler and former players at a clinic on Wednesday, February 17.
