Room for improvement for Albury's David Reynolds and Brad Jones Racing after Supercars opener

He left Mount Panorama on Sunday night eighth in the championship after he was ninth on Saturday and 11th on Sunday.

It was a solid performance given it was his first real hit out in a Ford Mustang after he changed teams in the off-season.

"This weekend has been really positive for me, I feel like I've settled into the team really well. I'm enjoying the vibe and things are heading in the right direction." Reynolds said.

"Now that we've done a few miles and I'm feeling more comfortable in the car, we think we know what we need so we've just got to go and build it.

"I'm feeling confident in the team and looking forward to digging into all of the data over the next few weeks as we get ready for the next event at Sandown in a couple of weeks."

Meanwhile, it was a tough start for Albury's Brad Jones Racing, with engine problems on Saturday putting them behind the eight ball.

Nick Percat started Saturday's race from last after an electrical problem in qualifying denied him the chance to post a time, while Macauley Jones' engine failed on lap 25 of the 40-lap race.

Todd Hazelwood had a good run from 19th to 10^th as Percat's electrical gremlin returned to cause a lengthy pit stop. He eventually finished 18th.

The BJR crew had a long night Saturday to change both Percat's and Jones' engines, but were hopeful of a better day on Sunday.

Percat had a steady race and finished 10th, Jones climbed to 15^th, while Hazelwood crossed the line 18th.

"A solid finish on Sunday, thankfully, after what was a bit of a rocky start for us," Percat said.

"I was happy to get the car in the top ten. It's actually my best Bathurst finish since 2018, so I'm happy about that.

"Overall, Saturday's missed session really put us behind with getting laps in and testing different setups, but we bought it home strong and will look on to Sandown to make sure we're well prepped and continue with the results that we deserve."
