Sutcliffe spent the last Women's National Cricket League season training with the Meteors Development Squad, but admitted she's excited to finally join the ranks.
"It's nice to be officially named in the squad this year," she said.
"I think I've learnt how to take it up a notch and the hard work ethic you have to bring."
The rising cricket star impressed in her WNCL debut earlier this year against the NSW Breakers after she was called upon 15 minutes before the match.
The medium pace bowler dazzled to claim the wickets of Australian players Alyssa Healy, Rachel Trenaman and Ash Gardner- something she admitted she won't forget in a hurry.
"It was pretty surreal," Sutcliffe said.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"I didn't get to have any nerves because I was called up 15 minutes before the game.
"I didn't have time to make up situations in my head, instead I just had to go right, I have to do this now.
"It was good that we were playing NSW in the end because they were pretty familiar to me.
"It was just good to get out on the field and see how I went."
Sutcliffe is one of three newly contracted players, joining Chloe Rafferty and Kayla Burton.
She'll commence pre-season training later this month.
Sutcliffe was recently back on the border to contest the Emerging Players Easter Cricket Program.
