More than 200 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in Gundagai after the town was put on alert for possible exposure to the virus.

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has confirmed it tested a total of 249 people at its pop-up COVID-19 clinic in Gundagai from Thursday to Sunday, all of whom returned negative results.
A holidaying family from Melbourne, who later tested positive to COVID-19, were in southern NSW between May 19 and 24 while potentially infectious.
The family stopped in Gundagai on May 19 on their way to the NSW South Coast where they ate at The Coffee Pedaler cafe and visited the Craft Centre, Junque and Disorderly antique shop, and the Foodworks.

NSW Health issued a warning last Wednesday night that prompted the MLHD to set up a testing clinic at the racecourse.
"Each person was requested to self-isolate until they received their test results. Test results were returned within 24 hours," said MLHD COVID-19 coordinator Emma Field.
MLHD testing clinics are based in Cootamundra, Griffith, Hay, Leeton and Wagga.
These clinics are available by appointment made through the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099. They are free and completely confidential.
