Winemakers of Rutherglen executive officer Annalee Nolan said organisers remained on track to deliver the festival this month provided it was safe for patrons and participating wineries.
"We're pushing forward and hopeful of delivering our full event on the new dates," she said.
Ms Nolan said she hoped visitors from the Border Bubble and Victoria would support the festival.
She said tickets sales were down 50 per cent owing to the loss of the long weekend fixture.
"The vast majority of our visitors come from Melbourne and Victoria," Ms Nolan said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We never know what's going ahead these days so we hope people will grab their friends and come to the festival to support regional Victoria when they can.
"The Border Bubble is working well. We hope nothing else changes; no one wants to see another hard border closure."
Sixteen wineries will participate with Morris Wines and Campbells Wines unavailable for the revised dates.
Festival tickets will not be available at the event.
