Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Australia is up to the challenge of dealing with the Delta strain of COVID-19.
"It's tough and it's going to continue to be tough in the weeks ahead, possibly months ahead," he said.
Mr Morrison said the country had previously had 'significant challenges' with the vaccination program', but had hit a milestone with a million doses administered in a week.

Of the new cases 43 were in the community for more than a day while infectious, 17 were in the community for part of the time they were infectious and 13 are unknown.
Victoria recorded 22 cases in the 24 hours to midnight.
16 were in quarantine for their entire infectious period.
Five people are in hospital and one person is in the ICU.
