Meat demand outstripped supplies at Lavington and Wodonga Woolworths in the days after the restrictions were announced last week.
"Our teams have been working hard to ensure stock is replenished as quickly as possible," a Woolworths spokesperson said.

"Demand has moderated this week and stock levels at our Lavington and Wodonga stores have returned to normal.
"We encourage our customers to continue to be mindful of others in the community and buy only what they need."
A Coles spokesperson also confirmed there had been "availability issues in some stores" before adding "customers can expect to see these issues resolved in coming days".
