Dozens of thespians will showcase their skills at Albury Entertainment Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 14 and 15, at the Australian Guild of Music and Speech competition.
Ms Skinner said the children remained eager, which was why she never considered cancelling.
"Not at all; they'd put so much work into it and they were ready to go," she said.
"I think if we blink, we might be in lockdown again, that's why we have to get it over and done with," she added with a laugh.

More than 200 entries will perform for adjudicator Jill Tucker, of Wagga, with the age groups spread out over the two days.
Tuesday will see competitors 12 years and under, 16 years and under and open while 6 years and under, 8 years and under and 10 years and under compete the second day.
Audience members are allowed, with COVID-safe measures in place.
Speech and drama competition in Albury-Wodonga usually forms part of the annual eisteddfod, which has been cancelled for the past two years.
Ms Skinner said she looked forward to this week's new event and appreciated the support shown by families and other drama teachers.
"I'm a bit excited actually because it's something different, doing it on its own like this," she said.
