An aircraft has made an emergency landing at Albury airport, after its cabin filled with smoke mid-air.

NSW Police said at just after 11am on Monday, a student pilot and his instructor left the Mangalore Aerodrome, near Avenel in Victoria.
"Police have been told the two men - aged 22 and 65 - were about 34 miles out of Albury, when a technical fault caused the cabin to fill with smoke causing them to alert in distress," police said.

"The aircraft made a safe emergency landing at Albury Airport where emergency services were in attendance."
Police officers and fire crews attended Albury airport as a cautionary measure.
Both men were treated for minor smoke inhalation, but did not need to go to hospital.
