A four-bedroom Wodonga home has smashed the city's property record, making it the most expensive residential house sold in town.
While the exact sale figure is undisclosed, the 2 McGaffins Road property was being marketed with a price of at least $2.5 million.
The property was built and owned by Trentwood Homes owners Darko and Maria Gorupic.
Selling agent William Bonnici of First National Real Estate Bonnici and Associates said the property, which was listed for sale just a couple weeks ago, attracted a lot of interest.
"We had a number of inspections, even though it was the lead up to Christmas we had about half a dozen qualified inspections," he said.
"The property left nothing to chance, nothing to the imagination, it was all there for everyone to see.
"It's a magnificent home offered for sale for the first time in its history."
The home features a private lake and jetty, an oversized six-car garage as well as an in-ground pool and a separate self-contained entertainment house.
Mr Bonnici said it was great to have broken Wodonga's sale price record twice in one year.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The previous record was set in October when First National Real Estate Bonnici and Associates sold 6 Caernarvon Court, Wodonga, for $2 million.
"It's quite a sense of achievement," he said.
"We don't set out to break records, our role is to get the right people in right home... obviously to have broken the suburb record in Wodonga for a residential home only [two] months ago, you would have thought it would be a while before the opportunity came up again, but here we are."

Mr Bonnici said it had been a record breaking year for the Border property market.
"The benchmark for property prices has certainly increased and our office has sold and settled over 20 properties over $1 million just this year," he said.
"It's unprecedented... we've been running our business for eight years now, our first million dollar sale was in 2014, after that we had another in 2016, then 2018, and then we had a number in 2019 and 2020.
"To then to have over 20 properties this year [sell for more than $1 million] you can see how its grown exponentially.
"It's a maturing of our city and combined cities that is seeing prices rise.
"We will see more of these properties come on the market and change hands as people's personal circumstances change."
Mr Bonnici believes the current record held by 2 McGaffins Road will stand for some time.
