It was just the Phantoms’ second loss in two seasons.
“It was incredible, everything just stuck,” coach Paul Musarra said.
He’s in his third coaching stint, working as an assistant in the 2000 premiership, before assuming the top role in 2003-04-05.
“We won’t go as far to say it’s better than back then, but it’s close to a performance as what I saw years ago,” he said.
Hooker Joe Druce joined fellow forwards Dave Cooper-Dunn and Roussou Visser in five-star displays.
And the squad was missing James Devlin, Richard Manion and Arran MacDougall.
“We had to make sure that we overloaded our backline defence, so we really had good numbers,” he said.
“We ran really well, controlled phases and we didn’t rush, we just controlled the tempo of the attack, we’ve been working on that the last couple of weeks.”
