The .22 rifle was uncovered after police raided the motel room on finding out Keith King was inside.
He had five outstanding warrants, including for matters from 2016 and 2018 that have also gone before Albury Local Court.

When his girlfriend opened the motel door to police, King made a run for it but was quickly brought to the ground by officers outside.
The 26-year-old, appearing via a video link to jail, was clearly annoyed and asked magistrate Richard Funston for a reason on being told he would not be sentenced straight away.

But Mr Funston said he would not rush King's matters, given he had pleaded guilty to several sets of charges.
"I can tell you now, these matters I can't decide on today," he said.
King was still on parole for other convictions when he was arrested in late July, having only been released from Victorian prison a few months earlier.
He pleaded guilty to resist police, possess a shortened firearm, possess ammunition without a permit and possess a loaded firearm endangering life in a non-public place, along with the historic charges.
Police went to the Green Door Motel in Wagga Road, Lavington, on July 23 about 10.15pm.
From outside his room they heard the voices of a man and woman.
They knocked on his door, of room No.5, and announced it was the police. They said they knew he was inside.
The woman could be heard again, so an officer yelled out for the door to be opened.
When she did open the door, they saw King crouching just before he attempted to run past them.
Several officers tackled him to the ground and, after a struggle, he was handcuffed.
The loaded rifle was then found by police officers, inside the room.
King will be sentenced on October 26.
