The much improved Bulldogs attracted a bumper crowd of 2100 against long-time nemesis Wodonga Raiders on Anzac Day in what was hoped to be one of the closer games between the pair.
However, Raiders blew the home team away in the second half to win by 61 points.
"We learnt that even if we know it's a big game, you still need to be mentally switched on and just focus on the small things, you have to bring your energy and enjoy the game, rather than build it up too much," ex-SANFL forward Cody Szust offered.
Coach Jordan Taylor vowed to make changes and dropped Kade and Jayse Brown.
The Bulldogs scored one of their biggest upsets over Yarrawonga and have the ideal opportunity to move past last season's solitary win at home to North Albury on Saturday.
