The club is running a six-week skill acquisition program for players aged between nine and 13.

Sessions will run from 6pm on Monday and Wednesday at Latrobe University Fields, starting next week.

Technical director Adam Carty has been delighted with the enthusiastic response to the club's proposal.

"The idea was to re-engage kids in the region with football," Carty said.

"The fear, when you have long breaks, is that kids form habits which don't bring them back to sport so it's really good this is happening.

"It shows the kids are keen and I'm looking forward to seeing the range we get.

"The confidence that people have got that we're able to deliver a product is really pleasing as well.

"It's good pressure back on us as coaches and a club to get it right.

"We'll have six teams with eight coaches.

"They're like little sponges at that age so in six weeks, you can form some really good habits."
