Homes in Albury-Wodonga, Baranduda, Holbrook, Yarrawonga and Beechworth have been honoured in the Master Builder Victoria regional residential awards.
Scott James Builder won North East Residential Builder of the Year for an East Albury project that also claimed best custom home $1 million to $2 million.
Master Builders Victoria chief executive Rebecca Casson said Scott James Builder's collaboration with Melbourne's Kerstin Thompson Architects produced a "seriously impressive home that maximises every inch and sits quietly and respectfully in its surroundings".
"The compact home manages to be a spatial marvel, packed with surprise and features," she said.
"Built over two levels, there are two bedrooms with ensuites, a study and multiple living spaces.
"There's no plasterboard to be seen, having been shunned for more robust, textured, and warmer materials.
"An exercise in the bespoke and making difficult things look simple."
