COVID continues to haunt the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League, even in the off-season, with confirmation the Morris Medal will now be online.
The O and M managed only 13 of 18 regular season games before the season was cancelled due to COVID.
The league had announced it was planning its presentation night for the SS&A Club on November 12, but was informed by club officials last Friday COVID protocols won't allow it to proceed.
The O and M was looking to buck the trend of other leagues, such as the SANFL, which had held their presentation night online, in an effort to reward its long-time major sponsor with a face-to-face event, albeit with numbers capped to 130.
"It was shaping as a great opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate what's been a challenging year and it's disappointing we're unable to do that now," O and M general manager Craig Millar said.
